Message	air flow thru the center section of the core, and the outer tubes have somewhat more stagnent air. There is not enough restriction for the air to take a slightly longer path. Someone should take infrared photos of the intercooler under driving conditions and see if the edges are as hot as the area right between the ducting. If this is the case, there is a lot of cooling air flowing thru these not so hot areas, and not being used efficently.
